After a bad fall from her horse in October 2007, Maree Hammersley-Myers fractured a vertebrae in her lower back which resulted in problems while sleeping and morning pain. Initial treatment consisted of pain relief, physiotherapy and acupuncture with reasonable results.
Maree was told that she was not allowed to ride for three months and that it would take one year to heal which was pretty devastating news.
Maree started training with Rachel in December 2007 and after consulting with Maree's physiotherapist, helped her to gradually improve her core strength eliminating her morning pain and improving her sleep quality. Within three months Maree was back on her horse, Rough Majik, and has been regularly winning competitions.
A year on and Maree is still training with Rachel once a week and she finds that if she misses a week her back pain starts again. She is stronger and fitter then ever.
